Capital Projects
Our experience allows for the provision of ‘cold eyes reviews’, management oversight (including project controls) or the provision of a project management service for the client. We can provide effective coordination (interface management) between all parties for all phases of a project from Front End Engineering Design (FEED) through gated reviews to Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC) and commissioning. There are a multitude of contract models available for the various phases, and our experience in this field can add significant value for the client.
Turnarounds and Shutdowns
It’s well established that a thorough preparation phase and well-defined scope for any plant shutdown gives the best opportunity for a positive outcome. RefChem expertise can add significant value by collaborative review in any number of ways: systems and procedures; scope challenge; contracting strategy; work package development; schedule review; controls during execution and more. Our experience can be provided on a consultancy basis at key stages during the full life-cycle of the event, whether or not the main preparation and execution effort is out-sourced or remains in-house.
Maintenance and Integrity management
Truly effective asset management can only be achieved as a coordinated effort at any site, ideally with maintenance, operations and inspection teams all pulling together. This is true whether the work is prepared and executed by in-house teams, or whether it is out-sourced to one (or several) contract companies. The number of contract models available for maintenance out-sourcing is almost limitless but RefChem experience is available to ‘analyse and suggest’ or equally to assist clients to review and implement their own proposals. The goal will usually be ‘how best to assure long-term asset integrity along with plant availability but, crucially, with a sustainable cost base’. It’s very clear that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution, and we are happy to work alongside clients to help determine what will work best for any site or organisation, small or large.
